Landschaftsmalerei in Händen
Landscape Painting in Hands (engl. below)
In jeder Hand finden sich Berge, Täler, Pfade, Abzweigungen und Muster – Topografien, die sich zu Landschaften und den Spuren der Persönlichkeit verdichten. Aus den individuellen Handlandschaften entwickelt Angela Dorrer neue Kartografien: Handscapes. Malend schreibt sie den Handinnenflächen ihre Wahrnehmung ein.
Das künstlerische Material ist die intime, reliefartige Struktur der Hände. Der Körper wird zur Leinwand. Der Prozess des Malens oder Einschreibens ist intensiv. Für einen kurzen Moment entfremdet sich die Hand vom Handeigner und wird zur Landschaft. Die Bilder handeln vom Körper, vom Reisen, von der Sehnsucht.
Bevor die Landschaft wieder vergeht, wird sie fotografisch festgehalten – Momentaufnahme und Portrait der Individualität des Handeigners.
Zu vielen Handscape entsteht in Kooperation mit einem Kartografen ein Logbucheintrag, die Beschreibung der Landschaft und der Reise.

Die Bilder werden in Pigmentdruck und streng limitierten Auflagen auf hochwertigen Büttenpapieren gedruckt.

In every hand there are elevations, valleys, paths, branches and patterns.
Out of this Angela Dorrer develops topographies and new cartographies by painting directly onto the palm: Handscapes.
She discovers and creates very focused miniature landscapes, with the paintbrush and colour.
The body becomes canvas and the process of painting echoes a walk.
The style of painting is spontaneous, nongeometrical and abstract and does not follow strict rules.
Through painting she discovers and/or uncovers, what she refers to as a new country.
She explores, she measures, she maps a terrain, she names and every aesthetical decision has cultural consequences.
However the existance of the new country and this new painting is short term, as the host body will begin to break it down rapidly with bodily sweat.
In consultance with a cartographer she documents some of the travels into the hands with poetic descriptions in her travel logbook.
