Angela Dorrer erforscht als Künstlerin und Urban Pilgrim unser Umfeld in den Formen Fotografie, Malerei und Performance. Seit 2004 arbeitet sie verstärkt mit Kartografie, Stadterforschungen und lokaler Psychogeografie.
Geboren in Fredericton (CAN). Kunststudium (Montreal Concoria University und AdBk München, UNiversität der Angewandten Künste Wien). Projekte bislang in Deutschland, Österreich, Dänemark, England, Serbien, USA und Kanada. Mehrere Akademiepreise, Projektstipendium der Stadt München, DAAD-Stipendium Los Angeles und Stipendium vom Museumsquartier Wien. MitbegründerIn der program angels in der lothringer13 / Plattform für experimentelle Medienkunst für die Stadt München (2000-2005). Lebt und arbeitet in Wien und Zurndorf/Friedrichshof.
Angela Dorrer researches as an artist and urban pilgrim our present context using the media of photography, painting and performance. Since 2004 she works increasingly with cartography, urban research and local psychogeography.
Born in Canada. Art Education at Concordia University of Fine Arts Montreal, Academy of Fine Arts in Munich / AdBK München and at the University of Applied Arts / Universität der Angewandten Künste in Vienna. Projects in Germany, Austria, Denmark, England, Serbia, USA and Canada. Several Academy Prizes, a ‘Projektstipendium’ of the city of Munich, DAAD (German Academic exchange service) Scholarship for Los Angeles and a stipendium Museumsquartier Vienna. Cofounder and Cocurater of Program Angels at lothringer13 – platform for experimental media art for the city of Munich (2000-2005). Lives and works in Vienna and Zurndorf/Friedrichshof (A).
